IRVINE — Matthew E. Johnson, a graduate student at the University of California Irvine, has been named a 2005-2006 ARCS Scholar. ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) Foundation, Inc. is a national organization that provides scholarships to academically outstanding US citizens studying to complete their degrees in science, medicine and engineering, thereby contributing to the worldwide advancement of science and technology. Matthew is a PhD candidate in brain engineering at UC Irvine’s Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Science. His parents are Fallbrook residents.
