Richard C. Key, Sr.

Richard C. Key, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005. Dick was born on Feb. 9, 1924, in Lake View, IA. At age 17 he joined the US Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War, as a radio operator. In early 1942, Dick was part of the 36-ship convoy to Murmansk, Russia. His ship was one of 13 that survived that convoy. Dick was a proud and patriotic veteran.

Dick married his true love, Peg Young, in 1952. They had seven children together and 36 great years. With the help of the GI Bill he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan Univ...
