Supervisor Bill Horn, Carlsbad Mayor Bud Lewis and County officials mark the beginning of a $6.7 million project to build a new aircraft parking area and stormwater detention basin at McClellan-Palomar Airport with groundbreaking ceremonies Nov. 18 at 10 a.m.
The project includes construction of a general aviation parking apron to accommodate over 130 locally based aircraft, a partial parallel taxiway approximately 3,400 feet long and an underground detention basin to enhance airport safety and the quality of stormwater runoff.
