Bretsch ends regular-season college career with game-ending tackle

Phil Bretsch ended his regular-season college football career November 12 with a tackle to end the game.

The 2001 Fallbrook High School graduate also ended two other Marist drives in the University of San Diego’s 42-35 victory over Marist at Torero Stadium. His tackle following a completed third-down pass stopped the Marist receiver short of the first down, and the next Marist possession ended with an interception Bretsch returned to the Red Foxes’ two-yard-line.

“This was one of the most draining games I’ve ever had, but it was an awesome game,” Bretsch said.
