Bloodmobile in Bonsall Dec. 11

BONSALL — The San Diego Blood Bank Bloodmobile will accept blood donations at an open-to-the-public blood drive hosted by UltraStar Cinemas, 5265 S. Mission Rd., Bonsall, on Sunday, December 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Bloodmobile will be located in the theater parking lot.

All donors at this drive will be awarded a special limited edition Chargers Blood Drive XXVII long-sleeve (blue) Quiksilver t-shirt; a voucher for a free Whale Watching Trip donated by Helgren’s Oceanside Sportfishing & Islandia Sportfishing (due to rising fuel costs there will be a $5 surcharge per person); a voucher good for $5 off a purchase of $30 or more, courtesy of Pinery Christmas Tree farm; and the first 15 donors will be awarded a free pair of movie passes (with donors 16 through 35 receiving one free pass), courtesy of UltraStar Cinemas. Donors also will receive a medical history review and mini-physical, which includes blood pressure, pulse and temperature checks.

Anyone who is at least 17 years old, is in good health and weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to give blood. A good meal is recommended prior to donation.

Established through the support of the San Diego County Medical Society in 1950, the San Diego Blood Bank, a nonprofit organization, is the largest blood collection agency in San Diego County. A member of America’s Blood Centers, a national network of community-based blood banks, the San Diego Blood Bank serves patients in 50 hospitals throughout Southern California.
