Angel Society approves $12,000 for local projects

The Board of Directors for Fallbrook’s Angel Society met on December 8 and approved grants totaling $12,000 to several nonprofit organizations that support the needs of our community. Funds were awarded to the following organizations:

• Fallbrook Music Society to support the Music for Youth program providing opportunity for local students to hear symphony concerts and to support the Kodaly Music Curriculum.

• Fallbrook Beautification Alliance to plant and maintain the median on South Mission Road.

• Fallbrook Healthcare Foundation to help fund five of their current programs, the Adult Day Care Center, the CARE Van, a Care Advocate, Health Care Resources and Project CARE.

• Women’s Resource Center in Oceanside to help fund the 24-hour hotline supporting their emergency services and refuge for battered women and children.

• Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) for emotional first-aid to citizens who have experienced trauma, most often the loss of a loved one.

• TERI to improve the quality of life for children and adults with developmental and learning disabilities.

Fallbrook High School girls swim team to help purchase team t-shirts or jackets.

• Fallbrook Chorale to defray expenses associated with their Christmas and summer concerts.

The Fallbrook Angel Society uses proceeds from the Angel Thrift Shop, member dues and other donations to fund requests for worthy community projects.

All of the merchandise sold in the Angel Shop comes from community donations. The Angel Shop accepts donations Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the shop, located at 1002 S. Main in Fallbrook.
