That same weekend the freshmen were busy at the Rancho Buena Vista Freshman Tournament. Sixteen schools were present at this individual competition, where nine out of the 10 wrestlers placed in the top five. Haden Lundy at 125 pounds and Mike Jennings at 152 pounds paced third, Brett Jones and Dillon glass (both at 103 pounds), Garrett Bardon at 119 pounds, Garrett Robins at 145 pounds, Brian Long at 171 pounds and Josh Davis at 215 pounds placed fourth, and Ross Kohn at 145 pounds placed fifth.
