Navy region commander: no joint-use airports

Rear Admiral Len Hering, the Commander of the Navy Southwest Region, expressed strong opposition to a joint-use airport during a December 16 address to the San Diego Association of Governments.

“It is not an option,” Hering said. “We believe and we know that the shared use of commercial aviation is not compatible.”
