FALLBROOK — Board members for the Fallbrook Public Utility District (FPUD) elected a new board president and vice president at the Dec. 12 monthly meeting.
Don McDougal was named board president and replaces outgoing president Keith Battle. McDougal, vice president and CEO of the family-owned Grand Tradition, has been on the FPUD board since 2004. His current term expires November 2008.
Milt Davies was elected vice president. Davies is a fire chief with North County Fire Protection District and has been on the FPUD board since December 1994. He replaces outgoing vice president Bert Hayden. Davies’ term on the board ends November 2006.
Both former president Battle and former vice president Hayden will remain board members until their terms expire in November 2008.
“Both Don and Milt continuously challenge the district to be innovative and to find ways to save money and return it to the ratepayers,” said General Manager Keith Lewinger. “They are both an asset to this water district.”
The district’s five-member board is elected by registered voters. Board members are empowered to establish water charges, levy assessments and adopt all policies, procedures and regulations for the district. Board members’ four-year terms overlap so there is never a time when the entire board is made up of new members.
