Gerald "Gary" Haukaas

Gerald “Gary” Haukaas, 74, of Wewela went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2006. He was born on November 21, 1931, on his parents’ Lowell & Dorothy (Wales) Haukaas farm, the same farm that had been established by his grandfather Martin in 1908.

In 1956 he moved to California to begin his career in the aerospace industry at Hughes Aircraft and later Ling Electronics, where he was an integral part of the team responsible for engineering the electronic requirements for the space rockets and eventually became vice president of engineering for the western United States.
