Margaret J. Benz

Margaret J. Benz, 95, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2006. She was born on September 25, 1910, in Philadelphia, PA.

In June 1933 she married James F. Benz, a career Marine, and for the next 25 years they and their three children, Margaret (Pat) Macy, Albert (Jim) Benz and Dorothy Ann Hunter, traveled and lived on and off bases in South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina, Philadelphia, New York and Washington, DC.

Marge, as she preferred to be known, was involved in many volunteer activities and one year was name Parris Island’s “Mother of the Year.”
