Fallbrook Gem and Mineral Society elects officers

The Fallbrook Gem & Mineral (FGMS) Society’s February meeting will be on the third Thursday, February 16, at 7 p.m. (The change to the third Thursday is because so many FGMS members will be at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.) Guest speaker is from the Pekov Mineral Study Tour of the USA (Russia). The FGMS is one of the sponsors of this exchange.

The Fallbrook Art Center’s current exhibition is Absolute Amadeus. The February 16 meeting will have cases to complement this show including a display of Mozartite, the mineral named after Mozart 200 years after his birth. There will also be enlarged pictures of the mineral to be viewed by the public. The society has offered the use of its auditorium to the Art Center for lectures about Mozart’s life.
