ACWA session discusses groundwater basin salinity

A November 30 session during the Association of California Water Agencies conference in San Diego November 29-December 2 addressed the issue of managing salinity in groundwater basins.

“Managing Salinity in California’s Groundwater Basins” discussed the extent of the salinity problem, which salinity programs have worked and which ones have not worked and whether new alternative salinity goals are warranted. The panel also warned that any conservation-related solutions which lead to the loss of jobs would jeopardize the ability to pay for the infrastructure.
