February Fallbrook Quilt Guild meeting announced

Fallbrook is being given the chance to meet a celebrity. It is the Quilt Guild’s pleasure to bring Shelley Swanland to Fallbrook for its February 2 meeting. Shelley has been a featured guest on HGTV’s program “Simply Quilts” and is also a published author. She has been a quilter since the mid-1970s. She not only learned how to quilt but was inspired to create unique patterns that make a difficult task into a simple one.

Shelley has developed a technique for constructing Cathedral Window quilt designs that is a new and easier approach. Some of her quilts have appeared in McCall’s Quilting, The Quilter, Quilter’s World and Quiltmaker magazines. Her quilts may appear intricate and complex, though they are easy and fast to make.

The Quilt Guild meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Fallbrook Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Their meetings and workshops are open to the community. Shelley’s workshop will be held Saturday, February 4, at the Fallbrook Public Utility District on Santa Margarita Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

For information regarding the guild meeting or the workshop, call Tina Rainey at (760) 728-2560.
