Hospital Auxiliary honors volunteers

FALLBROOK — Twenty volunteers of Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary were honored at the January 18 general meeting held at Silvergate Retirement Residence. Each received an award pin designating the number of hours they had volunteered. Board member Hollis Moyse made the presentations.

Recipients were as follows:

• 60 hours: Jennifer Huggel and Shirley Ledda

• 200 hours: John Saunders and Pauline Smith

• 500 hours: Hank Huu DeMore, Sharon Heincy, Dottie Holzer, Mary C. Miller, Janice W. Park, John Sullivan, Bruce Summers and Verna Wells.

Longtime volunteers were also honored. These included:

• 1,000 hours: Elizabeth Baumgaart, Janice Gaudet and Lis Woelke

• 6,000 hours: Lucy Taylor

• 6,500 hours: Esther Gonsalves

• 7,000 hours: Bettie Haughey

• 8,000 hours: Marilyn Qualls

• 19,000 hours: Chic Maclise, who has been a hospital volunteer for 25 years and is currently serving as president of the Auxiliary

The Auxiliary has a membership numbering 269 with 131 active volunteers. The mission of the Auxiliary is to give volunteer service to hospital patients and raise funds for community healthcare service and for scholarships awarded yearly to high school graduates living in the Fallbrook Healthcare District and who intend to enter the medical field.
