Mr. Dana F. Orcutt, 86, passed away on January 31, 2006, at the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, CA. He was born on August 5, 1919, in South Dayton, NY. Mr. Orcutt was a resident of Fallbrook, CA, for 54 years.
Mr. Orcutt served in the US Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of Fallbrook Presbyterian Church, Fallbrook Masonic Lodge, Fallbrook Optimist Club, Exploradores RV Club, Fallbrook Rainbow Girls Club and the Fallbrook 4-H Club and FFA. He was also a leader in Fallbrook Little League. Mr. Orcutt was an active church volunteer who built hundreds of homes in the Fallbrook area as a building contractor.
Mr. Orcutt was preceded in death by his sister Thelma Pagett in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Viola Orcutt; daughter Elaine Barlow, Fallbrook, CA; son James Orcutt, Fallbrook, CA; sons & daughters-in-law Richard & Joan Orcutt, Portales, NM, David & Lynn Orcutt, Fallbrook, CA, and Donald & Joanne Orcutt, Silver City, NM; sister Patricia Showalter, Fallbrook, CA; brother Ellis J. Orcutt, Temecula, CA; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary. Interment with military honors will take place on Friday, February 10, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery. A memorial service and reception will follow at 2 p.m. at the Fallbrook Presbyterian Church. Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary handled the arrangements.
