“Incorporating Herbs into the Landscape” will be the subject presented by Judi Brady of Rusty Acres Farms at the Fallbrook Garden Club evening section on Wednesday, February 15, at 7 p.m. at the Fallbrook Public Utility District, located at 990 E. Mission Road. The public is invited to join Garden Club members for this informative session on how to use herbs not only for their fragrance but also for their culinary and medicinal value, as well as discovering their water saving advantages and the cost savings of growing your own. Judi will be bringing a number of specimens to discuss and will have plants available for sale after the meeting.
The February general meeting of the Fallbrook Garden Club will be held on Tuesday, February 28, at 1 p.m. at the Fallbrook Community Center, located at 341 Heald Lane. Horticulturist John Bagnasco will be speaking on “Total Growth Management.” According to John, all modern research on growing plants now involves taking into account the total environment. This approach emphasizes the balance of nature so that what is good for the environment also produces better results in the long run for healthy and happy plants. John is Senior Editor of the Garden Compass Magazine and a radio personality, along with Bruce and Sharon Asakawa of the Garden Compass syndicated radio show heard Saturdays from 8 to 10 a.m. on San Diego KLSD 1360.
The February general meeting will feature the music, dress and cars of the 1940’s in honor of the club’s 75th anniversary this year. All attendees are encouraged to dress the part as well as by bringing photos of themselves or other memorabilia from that decade.
