Help Project Wildlife with orphaned and injured animals

SAN DIEGO — Project Wildlife rescues, rehabilitates and releases thousands of wild birds and mammals throughout San Diego County every year.

The spring/summer months are known as “Baby Season” and are by far the busiest time of year. Between April and September, volunteers will help over 11,000 sick, injured and orphaned wild critters found in San Diego. Project Wildlife has a Wildlife Care Center located close to Interstate 8 and Interstate 5 that is open seven days a week to receive wildlife in need.

Not only does the organization need volunteers to work four-hour shifts each week at the Care Center but it also needs people to work with injured and orphaned animals in their homes. Volunteer information can be obtained on the Project Wildlife Web site at http://www.projectwildlife.org or by calling (858) 866-0557. Volunteer orientations are held monthly.
