Fallbrook Music Society recently announced its 2006-2007 concert season. “It is with great pride that we present our 29th season,” says Brenda Montiel, president of the society. “Listeners will hear the sounds of today, as well as voices from 300 years ago, all performed with a fresh, new spirit of innovation and discovery.”
Longtime patrons and new attendees alike will find concerts in the upcoming Fallbrook Music Society’s season that are intriguing and dynamic. The five symphony concerts and a new Virtuoso Series will provide a wide variety of listening experiences, from Master Works of the Baroque era to young, dynamic ensembles to favorite Chamber works. The season will culminate with the ultimate choral masterpiece: Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. “Each program has its own life — its own appeal,” adds Montiel. “This season is multidimensional with more diversity than we’ve ever offered.”
One of the highlights of the season will be the introduction of the Virtuoso Series. Concert attendees will discover the subtle power and spontaneity of chamber music presented by the Cello Octet Conjunto Iberico. This full-time ensemble from Amsterdam is one of the world’s most original, and its music has Mediterranean passion: full of color and contrast. In a solo performance, international concert pianist John Novacek will present a dynamic program encompassing works by major composers such as Beethoven and Liszt — to his own original ragtime pieces for piano.
