Modern dance combines with exercise classes

FALLBROOK — Specifically designed for adult women with or without a background in dance, The Ballet Society is offering a new session of modern dance/exercise classes beginning April 18 and running through May 26. Taught by Pat Finot, classes are Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ballet Society, 325 N. Brandon, Suite B. The introductory price for twelve classes is $60. To enroll, contact Pat Finot at (760) 728-5407 or Jackie Hepner at (760) 728-7360.

Pat, a longtime Fallbrook resident, has an impressive and formidable career in dance. She has also enjoyed tailoring dance and exercise material for adult women. As a Professor of Dance at California State University, Long Beach for over 20 years, she not only taught modern dance technique and improvisation but also is a former chair of the department. While at the university, she was choreographer, production coordinator and concert director for hundreds of performances. In addition, she was the artistic director and principal choreographer for The Moving Company, a professional modern dance company selected for inclusion in the National Endowment for the Arts’ (NEA) Aritists-in-Schools Program, and participated in the NEA’s Dance Touring Program. She was a founding producer and manager of the Bella Lewitsky Dance Company in Los Angeles and founding president of the California Dance Educators Association.

“The hour just flies by when you’re moving to great music and combining dance technique with traditional strength, flexibility and contouring exercise,” said Finot.
