Cars and other motor vehicles parked on County of San Diego streets must now be moved at least half a mile during a 72-hour period to avoid being cited or towed for being illegally stored.
A 5-0 Board of Supervisors vote April 5 ratified a January 27 recommendation of the county’s Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) which sought the statutory distance requirement. Because an ordinance requires a second reading and adoption, the supervisors will likely finalize the adoption of the distance requirement at the board’s April 26 meeting, in which case the ordinance would take effect May 26.
