Dennis Burnett, 76, a retired boat builder, passed away on May 5, 2006, of a stroke.
He was an active, busy man whose work in the Newport Beach Harbor area spanned almost 50 years, having learned his trade from a five-year apprenticeship in England as a shipwright.
His work involved all manner of repair, restoration and construction on all types of boats and he was well regarded in the field of a dying trade. He also stayed busy working on the 1920s Fallbrook, CA, farmhouse in which he lived 20 years.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 27 years Nancy Burnett; son Glen Burnett; daughter Tina Daul; four stepchildren, Peter Placey, Ann Placey, Patrick Placey and Mark Bard; nine grandchildren; four brothers; and one sister.
Memorial services will be held at the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook on May 27 at 11 a.m.
