Penseyres brothers to compete in Race Across America Race to start in Bonsall

Pete and Jim Penseyres will be bicycling from Oceanside to New Jersey as part of a team competing in Race Across America.

The two brothers, who graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California, will be riding on an eight-person team called Cycling for Chaffey. “We’re doing it as a benefit ride for the school,” said Pete Penseyres, who graduated from Chaffey in 1961 and now lives in Morro Hills.

This year’s race, which will actually begin in Bonsall after a parade portion from Oceanside to the Old Bonsall Bridge, will be the first for either Penseyres brother on an eight-person team. P...
