Relay for Life Luminaria Ceremony special

FALLBROOK — A major highlight of the upcoming Fallbrook Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is the Luminaria Ceremony, “the lighting of candles in special glowing bags, each with a name and a story to tell.”

The candle-lighting ceremony will take place at dusk on Saturday, June 17, at the Fallbrook High School Stadium.

The candles are a moving tribute to a cancer survivor or are lit in memory of a loved one who lost the battle against cancer. The candles will burn all night, lighting the way for the walkers who are participating in the 24-hour relay.
