The Sheriff’s Department has reported a sharp increase in vehicle thefts and burglaries in the past two weeks in the Fallbrook area.
“We are encouraging the public to take every precaution right now in regards to their vehicles,” said Sgt. Rich Hendrickson.
Hendrickson said between May 1 and June 12 sixteen vehicles were stolen in the Greater Fallbrook Area.
“Of those sixteen, ten of them had keys inside the vehicle,” Hendrickson said. “Keys were left on seats, consoles, in glove compartments and more, making access to the vehicles much easier.”
