As Father’s Day comes smack dab in berry season, there’s more than plenty of inspiration for these sweet, bright nuggets of culinary delight to be the basis for any number of sweet treats.
Some of today’s recipes are from my father’s family of cooks. All were unpretentious. All knew the value of a dime or dollar. And, all loved when the family gathered on holidays to visit and eat and listen to stories. In my remembering the stories were kinda non-stop and seemed to pass from my grandma to the next person and then to the next with nary a pause between. What fun it was to simply sit and listen....
