The Board of Directors for Fallbrook’s Angel Society met on June 22, and awarded funds totaling $18,800 to non-profit organizations that support the needs of our community. Funds were awarded to the following organizations:
• BSA Troop 725 (Michael Nichols’ Eagle Scout project) for materials to construct brick paving on paths at the Palomares House.
• The Reche Community Club to construct additional access for handicapped people.
• Fallbrook Associated Team (FAST) for additional water sports equipment to support the aquatic program.
• Land Conservancy Trails Council to help provide electrical power to the Santa Margarita Park and to provide funds toward a water system for the park which is to be opened this fall.
• BSA Troop 725 (Luke Sakievich’s Eagle Scout project) for materials that were used in construction of the new kiosk at the Los Jilgueros Preserve.
• Live Oak Park Coalition to assist with funding to replace the 25-year old foot bridge at the west entrance to Live Oak Park.
• ThinkFirst (partnered with the Fallbrook Firefighter’s Association) for safety presentations conducted at our local schools concerning prevention of accidents that can result in brain and spinal cord injuries. The assembly presentations by quadriplegic Jennifer Seital were made to over 6000 students.
The Fallbrook Angel Society uses proceeds from the Angel Thrift Shop, member dues, and other donations to fund requests for worthy community projects.
All of the merchandise sold in the Angel Shop comes from community donations. The Angel Shop is open for business Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the shop located at 1002 S. Main in Fallbrook.
