Now in her third year as president of the Lake Menifee Women’s Club and her seventh year working on their Independence Day celebration, Marcy Riehm has seen many things change.
Over the last 16 years, she has watched as the celebration grew from a $1,500 fireworks display in a wheat field into the annual carnival it has become today. This year, with a little help from County Supervisor Jeff Stone, her group hopes to top last year’s attendance of 3,500 people.
