First, the signs were cut off. Then, when a large portion of our fencing was knocked over we were very alarmed, angered and dismayed. This one has turned out to be very expensive to repair. Sadly, we have some very nasty neighbors somewhere.
While trying to find someone to do the work we discovered something very encouraging, not only for us personally but also politically, with wonderful ramifications for all of us as a county, as a whole: the Web site http://www.hirepatriots.com.
Their servicemen will come out and help you! What do you need?
• Someone here legally?
• Someone with more friends to bring if needed?
• Someone with a car, their own meal and water?
• Someone who speaks and understands English?
• Someone who has the initiative to proceed where needed without guidance?
• Someone proud of our country?
• Someone who can work the entire day in the 100+ degree sun, never slowing down?
• Someone who understands the job (materials, tools, how-to)?
• Someone you would happily trust with — yes — even your dog?
• Someone you may pay a tad more, but isn’t it worth it?
When going to the Web site to enter the information you can specify the type of work needed. When you think that many of them have been to Iraq and have learned how to build a school, hospital, etc., very quickly, they more than likely can find a way to handle your situation.
I thought I needed to go back and redo the information, but before I could click another key the phone rang. Guess who! Then several more men called within a few hours. A lady also called. We used the first three and the work was done much faster that way.
They came; they were clean; they worked. At one point the first day they were gone and we wondered if they really couldn’t handle the difficulty of the job after all… But then a while later they came back with a post-hole digger they rented from the big ‘HD’ and continued with the job! They are cheery, polite and are in need of financial help.
And who would you rather have to help you out on your precious property?
It’s a no-brainer.
