Waterscape Creations: Bringing landscapes to life

Dreaming about creating a paradise in your own backyard? Bob and Centella Jorgensen can help turn those dreams into reality. The couple own Waterscape Creations, a waterscape contracting company that specializes in the design and construction of water gardens, fishponds, streams and waterfalls. “Having a waterscape in your own backyard is a great stress reliever, Bob noted. “It helps you unwind.”

The Waterscape Creations crew works hard to create natural-looking waterscapes that mimic nature by using the color and texture of rock found in natural waterfalls. They are adept at creating an artistic display of water, boulders and aquatic plants.

“We create small and large waterscapes with everything in-between,” explained Bob, “and bring paradise into yards by introducing flowing, tranquil babbling brook sounds.”

The company has created many backyard waterscapes, but has also completed several on a grander scale. Waterscape works of art can be found at the Grand Tradition’s elaborate new Arbor Terrace, and also at the Aquaterra Restaurant at the Pala Mesa Resort.

A soothing waterfall cascading over sand-colored boulders to a tranquil pond can be found at Farmhouse Coffee on Fallbrook Street. Goldfish dart around under the serene surface of the pond. Lily pads float above the fish. The effect is a muted natural look, which blends in well with the landscaping.

Because his waterscapes do mimic nature, Bob spends much of his time in the natural world where he receives his inspiration. He and Centella visit the Eastern Sierras as well as the Sequoia National Park area. “I learn from nature,” explained Bob, “and study the natural waterfalls and stream beds.” He is greatly inspired by “the beauty of water moving over the rocks.”

Bob is a state licensed contractor who previously owned a swimming pool contracting company. He began his career in the contracting business in the mid 1970s when he worked alongside his father. In 1981 he formed his own swimming pool contracting company, but by the late 1990s the pool work had become too static. Because he was looking for a more creative outlet for his talents, he and his wife formed Waterscape Creations in the year 2000.

Centella has been an avid gardener since she was a child and specializes in aquatic plants. In addition to Bob’s fascination for waterscapes, he also has a keen knowledge of water-based pumps. Because of their varied interests, Centella and Bob make a great waterscape contracting team.

Waterscape Creations will transform your existing landscape into a tranquil paradise while connecting your yard with nature. “They will want to vacation in their own backyard,” said Bob.

“We have had numerous customers tell us that their yard was rarely used before, but now they enjoy it. Their yards are now an extension of their houses—like a room addition,” Bob noted. “It is such a joy to see people get excited when they see their yards come alive.”

Waterscape Creations accepts work in San Diego, Riverside and Orange Counties and can be reached at (760) 731-5233 or (888) 571-7792. The Web address is http://www.waterscapecreations.com.
