FALLBROOK — Last week, the Presbyterian Church transformed itself into a Mexican town for the fun of the children of our village. A farmacia and a Mercado complete with baskets, leather goods and other items set the mood. Artists were at work throughout the campus as well, and the large modern sanctuary had the feel of a south-of-the-border party. The hundred or so children who attended this year’s fiesta-themed vacation Bible school were almost there in old Mexico. The church has many artists and craftspeople who willingly donate their skills to bring off these big events. Attending to children’s needs and interests is a priority at the church, and a weekday preschool and Sunday classes for all children age 2 and older are available. “It’s all worth it — it’s worth anything — to introduce these children to Jesus as their savior,” says Pastor Kirk Bottomly.
