Popko wins CJRA at Camp Pendleton

Kerry Popko won the Pole Bending event at the California Junior Rodeo Association (CJRA) competition July 8 at Camp Pendleton.

The Fallbrook rider had a time of 20.55 seconds to win the competition. Lindsey King placed second with a run of 20.88 seconds.

“I really like running at Camp Pendleton,” Popko said. “The ground is not deep at all.”

Popko explained that such a surface is suitable to her horse, Banjo. “He runs so much better like that,” Popko said. “He’s not bogged down.”
