Fallbrook resident makes pilgrimage to New York on 9/11

“I return because I don’t want anyone to ever forget,” said Steve Mizell of Fallbrook. Mizell, owner of Killer Pizza from Mars in the Albertson’s shopping center, was in New York City on September 11, 2001, and has returned every year since then.

“I don’t know why it hit me so hard,” he mused. “I think it was because… when it happened I didn’t run down there to help. I cowered in my hotel. I think I felt guilty about that. I should have run down to help.”
