Quilt Guild to meet

On October 5, the Fallbrook Quilt Guild will be honored to have fiber artist, lecturer and quilt instructor Kelly Gallagher-Abbott at their monthly meeting. She has been featured on HGTV’s “Simply Quilts.” The meeting starts at 6:30 at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane.

Kelly will enlighten the group with a lecture on the history of the ‘Crazy Quilt,’ the reasons they were constructed, what the symbols mean and how they are important in society today. Kelly will also share a trunk full of her quilts.

A workshop will be offered on the following Saturday at the Fallbrook Public Utility District Office at 990 East Mission. At the workshop Kelly will be teaching fabric selection, foundation piecing, seam covering, beading and finishing. The public is welcomed at both. Call for workshop fee.
