FALLBROOK — Frederick and Deloris Walker celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday, October 8, between services at Fallbrook Presbyterian Church. Cake was served by the deacons. In addition, their children, Paul Walker, Sandra Price and Barbara Roath, hosted a brunch at the Grand Tradition.
Frederick (Fritz) and Deloris were married October 4, 1941, in Wymor, NB. They were introduced by a mutual friend in 1938.
They farmed in Friend, NB, until Fritz was called into the Army in September 1942. Fritz guarded German war prisoners in Okalahoma and Colorado and served as Honor Guard for the United Nations Conference in San Francisco in 1945.
In 1953 Fritz drove his truck with his tractor on a trailer and Delores drove the car with four children and his mother to Bellflower, CA, until their move to Fallbrook in 1976. Paul graduated from Fallbrook High School that year.
Fritz was in the excavating and grading business for 25 years. Both he and Delores are 30-year members of Fallbrook Presbyterian Church and have served as elders, Fritz as an usher and Delores as a deacon.
Both volunteer at Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary; Delores was Blood Bank Chairperson for 10 years. They also belong to the Exploradors RV group.
They have five children: Sandra, Warren, Barbara, Marta and Paul. Marta passed away this year. They have 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Fritz and Delores believe in a strong faith, love and respect and that together they can get through anything. They also enjoy doing things and being together. We have been blessed.
