Oceanside's consideration of stadium is mind-boggling

Switching from national issues for a moment, I must say how disappointed I am with the council and the people of Oceanside for even considering giving up open space in exchange for more cement and asphalt! This seaside community has already garnered a reputation as a “concrete jungle” – and wonders why tourists prefer Carlsbad and points south.

To think that the Oceanside population is so mesmerized by the “NFL hype” that they are willing to give up even a few acres of precious open space for professional sports - and the inevitable rock concerts/goliath trucks/dirt bikes, et cetera - is mind-...
