Bette Hampel, 85, passed away February 11, 2007, in Fallbrook, CA. Born May 8, 1921, in Nowata, OK, she was a resident of Fallbrook for 30 years.
Mrs. Hampel was a homemaker who worked earlier in her life as a teacher and a flight attendant for TWA. She was a graduate of George Peabody College, Nashville, TN, and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Fallbrook, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed tennis, gardening and cooking and was an avid reader.
Mrs. Hampel is survived by her husband of 59 years, George L. Hampel, Fallbrook; daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Jim McCall, Leadville, CO, and Barbara and Daniel Bansch, College Station, TX; sons and daughters-in-law Eric and Marta Hampel, Mason, OH, and William and Thuy Van Hampel, Fallbrook, CA; sister Dorothy Allen, Bowling Green, OH; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service was held February 16, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fallbrook, with interment at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside.
