A recent article in the North County Times spoke of the deterioration to Holy Trinity Church, the 800-year-old structure in Stratford-upon-Avon that served as the family church for William Shakespeare in the 16th century.
Brought to mind was my visit to this same church a couple of years ago. I was assisted in my tour of this historic site by an elderly churchgoer who was both knowledgeable and friendly. He would take no fee for the great service provided.
I have mailed a donation toward meeting the cost of the restoration and received a nice acknowledgement from the lady organizing the work. I urge all lovers of the works of the great bard to do as I have done and send a donation to this worthy cause.
