Lillian Abigail "Gail" Webster Hillier Benson

Lillian Abigail “Gail” Webster Hillier Benson, 87, passed away March 6, 2007, in Fallbrook, CA. Born January 15, 1920, in Providence, RI, she was a resident of Fallbrook for 50 years.

Mrs. Benson was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for several businesses in Fallbrook for over 30 years. She was a member of the USNA (the Waves), Bonsall Lions’ Club Auxiliary and American Field Service; a Girl Scout Leader; an advisor for the Bonsall 4-H Club; and past-president of Bonsall PTA, Fallbrook High School PTA and PTA District 9. A 50-year member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Mrs. Benson’s many accomplishments included being appointed Bishop’s Warden and serving as a delegate to the National Convention of the Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by sister Virginia Halsey, brother George Hillier and husband James Milton Benson in 1989. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Elisabeth and Eric Eichenauer, Huntington Beach, Kathleen and Steven Wood, Fallbrook, and Rev. Virginia Benson, Torrance; and grandchildren Kirsten Nelson, Lauren Eichenauer, Philip Eichenauer, and Emily Wood.

A Requiem Eucharist will be held Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 220 Escondido Avenue, Vista, CA. Rev. Wayne Sanders and Rev. Virginia Benson will officiate. There will be a private interment at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.
