Splitting the Democratic vote

I can’t believe that the average votes can’t see the real purpose behind Bloomberg’s switch from being Republican to being an Independent. It all relates to splitting the Democratic vote in the next Presidential election and thereby allowing the Republican candidates to get more votes than either the Democratic or Independent candidates can garner separately.
