Rock Solid Stone has been a premier provider/installer of beautiful countertops and flooring for 21 years. The business was first opened by Scott Morel, however, 10 years ago; Elidio Escobedo, who installed tile for Morel, became a partner.
“Elidio told Scott that he wanted to get into the granite business and he partnered up with Scott,” said Paul Dobon, spokesperson for Rock Solid Stone. Dobon claims this has been a perfect partnership, because Rock Solid Stone offers granite, tile and stone installations to both clients and/or contractors.
According to Dobon, there are not many companies out there that can simultaneously cater to both private parties and contractors, but Rock Solid Stone has been able to provide quality service to both.
Approximately 80 percent of Rock Solid Stone’s business is in remodels. Some of the materials used by the company include granite, travertine, limestone, tumbled stone and marble. Synthetic stone and porcelain tile are also favored by their clientele. Rock Solid Stone is known for producing lovely granite countertops and backsplashes. Their creative countertop edging is both unique and eye-catching.
Dobon mentioned that kitchen remodels are popular, and granite countertops are still in high demand.
“Granite is durable; the only thing that can cut granite is a diamond.” With routine maintenance, a granite counter can be worry-free. Other countertops, such as travertine and marble, have a tendency to stain. The resale value of a home always does better when a kitchen has granite, said Dobon.
On the flip side, Dobon claims that clients can be more flexible with bathroom countertops because it does not undergo the heavy-duty wear and tear a kitchen does.
Since Rock Solid Stone’s operations are based at their Fallbrook facility, they have a tremendous inventory of granite remnants. “If a client just wants to do a bathroom instead of buying a big old slab of granite, they can come down here,” said Dobon.
The years Morel has been in the industry has given him a keen eye and feel for a house.
“He [Morel] just has a way of making everything come together,” shared Dobon. Once clients notice Morel’s ability and creativity, a sense of trust becomes present.
Morel and his team do top-quality work. Dobon said that Morel has remained successful because “he is not in the business to make a fortune, sell it and leave.”
Because Morel is here for the long haul, he personally puts his name on every solitary project. “It’s the type of quality that all of us stand behind,” Dobon said.
