Dear Mr. Whittingham:
The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce supports the principal that purchases should be made locally. Therefore, Fresh and Easy’s proposed Fallbrook location will provide a benefit to our community and many residents who now drive to Oceanside or Temecula to shop at Trader Joe’s or similar stores, for the varied assortment of products and specially items that are sold at these out of town stores.
We are pleased that thousands of dollars will be spent to upgrade and improve the shopping center where Fresh and Easy plans to be located. This will provide desired revitalization to the area. This new store and the revitalization of this shopping center will encourage customers to frequent this area of town during day and evening hours, and in turn will benefit the surrounding businesses and shops.
The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce has offered to work with the shopping center and Fresh and Easy to attempt to reduce the amount of Traffic Impact Fees that we have been told the County has estimated at $500,000. The same location was previously home to the Alpha Beta market and a general merchandise store, so the proposed use by Fresh and Easy and the other general merchandize store should generate no more than the same number of trips as in the past.
Please contact me if you have any questions or comments regarding these issues.

Phil Delaney, Chairman of the Board
