Refreshments will be served following the meeting. The meeting and critique session are open to the public at no charge.

Shirley Cannon is an abstract artist who paints imagined forces of nature, large, mysterious and loosely textured. She includes collage to show the visceral beauty as well as the desecration of the earth. She works with oil and mixed media with the precision of famed artist Rene Magritte. Sometimes a painting takes as long as two years to complete.
In addition to demonstrating at the meeting, Cannon will hold a workshop from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. September 16 at the Fallbrook Public Utilities Department building, 900 East Mission. For cost and more information about the workshop, contact Joan Nied at (760) 451-1591 or [email protected].
