Learn to 'wildscape' your garden

Learn how to use California’s native plants and compatible Southwestern and Mediterranean species to achieve a beautiful garden that is a magnet for birds at the January meeting of the Fallbrook Garden Club.

Chris and Trish Meyer will share their secrets to achieve a successful garden habitat that is water conservative and low-maintenance.

The Meyers converted what used to be an ivy-covered hillside garden in Sherman Oaks to a wildlife habitat for birds and butterflies. It is a true case of “grow it and they will come;” more than 50 different birds from hummingbirds to hawks have been spotted in their own backyard habitat.

Using digital photographs and video, the program will include designing a water feature built especially for birds.

The meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane. Guests are welcome to attend.

The Fallbrook Garden Club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., Pacific Region, and is a charter member of California Garden Clubs, Inc., Palomar District.
