Prevent child-caused fires

Somewhere a child is about to learn the pain a match or lighter can cause.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection needs every adult’s help to prevent child-caused fires. Those who have young children can take the time to teach them that matches and lighters are tools, not toys.

Unlike cigarettes, matches do not come with a warning. Adults should always keep matches and lighters out of the reach of small children.

Remember, a match lasts only a few seconds but the scars can last a lifetime. Be fire safe, not sorry!...
