Does anyone but me see a moral decline in standards in the USA?
Firstly, I know of no other country that allows the blatant advertising by legal firms (we use to call them ambulance chasers). For example, they ask the public to join in a lawsuit if they have ever been treated for such and such a disease – or if they have ever used such and such a drug.
Oh sure, I’ve heard before all the old canards from the lawyers – “How else is the poor man able to seek justice if not for ‘contingency’ lawsuits?” Baloney!
Twenty-four million people winning a $50 million settlement means that the lawyers get half of it for fees and “expenses,” while the active litigants get a dollar apiece in “promissory vouchers” of some kind. What a racket!
Then, there are the legal firms advertising to let you get away with paying mere pennies on the dollar to settle with the IRS. Ergo only “dummies” pay their fair taxes – the “smart” taxpayer gets help in bamboozling the government!
What an example we set for our children! Am I the only one who sees this moral decline?
