Legacy Endowment… The Community Foundation recently received a donation for fire victims from a high school student in Ohio.
Hilary Carr, a sophomore at Mineral Ridge High School, raised $110 by asking people at her school for donations and giving out popsicle-stick houses with the word “rebuild” on them.
Carr sent the money to Legacy to hand out where needed and included one of the houses with her letter, adding, “Thank you for supporting the victims.”
Tina Rainey, executive director of Legacy, sent Carr a thank you letter telling her that her donation “will go directly to someone who has multiple needs for daily living expenses.”
So far, Legacy has distributed almost $100,000 in funds raised for the fire victims.
