Soneros Del Caribe to perform March 15

FALLBROOK — Soneros del Caribe will perform the music of Cuba in a concert sponsored by Fallbrook Americana Music Series just as interest in Cuba and its culture is piqued following the news of a change in leadership.

Saturday, March 15, at the Fallbrook Woman’s Club, Juan Duprey, Alberto Diaz and Hector Rodriguez will present a concert with workshop overtones as they play the music of Cuba and take time out to explain a guitar-like instrument called the treo and demonstrate some distinctive rhythms.

Additionally, hors d’oeuvres from Azafran, a Cuban restaurant in Oceanside, will be served at the break.

Interestingly, all members of the trio are Puerto Rican. Three additional musicians – Rich Enchelmeyer, Julio Valdez and Johnny Salinas – will join the trio for this special evening.
