New business, lifestyle magazine well received

Village News’ new Village Lifestyle off to a popular start.

FALLBROOK — In order to fulfill the need for a monthly business and lifestyle magazine that would serve the I-15 corridor exclusively, the Fallbrook/Bonsall Village News has worked in cooperation with the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce to successfully launch the Village Lifestyle magazine.

The first Village Lifestyle magazine was produced in November and was well received by residents in Fallbrook, Bonsall, Vista Valley, Twin Oaks, Pala, Pauma, the Temecula Wine Country and Northern Escondido.

“We continue to get e-mails, cards and phone calls congratulating us on the publication,” said Julie Reeder, Village Lifestyle publisher. “We’ve planned on doing a new magazine for a long time and we are having a great time expanding our coverage.”

Village Lifestyle is a full-color, glossy magazine that highlights a “village lifestyle,” or the lifestyle of professionals who own small businesses, work from home or have agricultural or equestrian businesses, causing their business and everyday living to be entwined, explained Reeder.

The magazine features articles on marketing, finance, investing, agriculture, home-based businesses, political issues, real estate, history, fashion, fitness and health, environmental issues and activities scheduled or observed in the I-15 corridor.

In addition, the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce has contracted with the Village News to use a part of the magazine to publish its Village Voice, the Chamber’s monthly newsletter, which publicizes its business news, features, accomplishments and other important information.

The Village Lifestyle magazine is considered to be a valuable communication tool between the Fallbrook Chamber and the community, offering readers a unique look at the business aspect of the Fallbrook community while giving an inside glimpse into the advantages and challenges area business owners face.

In order to provide small business owners with a quality marketing and advertising program, the Village Lifestyle offers advertising prices equivalent to half of what many other glossy magazines charge.

“We want to give [Village Lifestyle] a healthy start and allow businesses who may be struggling in this economy the ability to advertise in something more upscale,” said Reeder.

Each month’s issue of Village Lifestyle has a distinct theme and focus while still including business- and lifestyle-related material.

The magazine is distributed through the Village News to subscribers, Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce members, business owners and households through the mail. In addition, there are thousands of copies delivered to businesses, lobbies and restaurants throughout North County.
