FALLBROOK — It doesn’t matter if one’s band plays at parties, dances or just in a garage, the Third Annual Battle of the Bands is open to all bands with members ages 13 to 19.
Each band selected will set up and perform on May 2 and battle it out for a $200 first place cash award, trophies, other donated prizes and bragging rights.
This year’s Battle of the Bands will also have a People’s Choice award. Everyone attending will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite band. The band with the most votes will receive a trophy and $1 for each vote.
This is not an air band, karaoke or lip sync contest; this is the real deal. Bands must have three or more members who actually sing and/or play instruments.
A completed application, band photo and CD or tape with at least three tunes must be submitted to the Community Center office by 5:30 p.m. on April 20. The top bands will be invited to perform in front of an audience and be rated by a panel of judges on May 2.
The Third Annual Battle of the Bands is sponsored by Friends of Fallbrook Community Center and County of San Diego Parks and Recreation.
For applications and information contact the Community Center at (760) 728-1671 or stop by the office at 341 Heald Lane Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. or e-mail [email protected].
